I am very happy to inform you that today I received a statement from ASCAP indicating that I am to receive royalties in the amount of $.15 from airplay in the Netherlands! I want to extend my thanks to all of my Netherlandian fans out there, and promise that I will not let this sucess go to my head.

After months of sporatic mixing and procrastination, we put the finishing touches on the new record and sent it off to the manufacturer. Sir Bob stayed up for 2 days mixing and touching and twiddling! Somebody buy that man a beer! We'll keep you posted on actual release dates and all that good stuff.

MELVERN AND THE BOYS ARE CURRENTLY MIXING THE NEW RECORD. IT WILL BE CALLED "LOVE SONGS FOR LOSERS" UNLIKE MELVERN'S PREVIOUS RECORDS THIS ONE WAS MOSTLY RECORDED LIVE. JUST MELVERN AND THE FABULOUS MELTONES IN A STUDIO PLAYING SONGS. A MINIMALIST POP RECORD IF YOU WILL. CHECK OUT THE MUSIC PAGE FOR A SAMPLE OF THE NEW STUFF.

Melvern's tune "Angel on My Shoulder" will be featured on an episode
of "Life is Wild" on the CW this Sunday at 8pm EST. That's kinda cool

AMERICANA SINGER-SONGWRITER MELVERN TAYLOR SIGNS PUBLISHING DEAL WITH PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC PUBLISHING

CHICAGO, IL, April 2007--- Melvern Taylor and Primary Wave Music Publishing are pleased to announce the signing of a publishing deal.

Primary Wave has acquired the rights to Melvern Taylor’s most recent release, Fabuloso, as well as his past two releases Handsome Bastard and Spider and the Barfly. The deal includes licensing, placement, soundtracks and commercial opportunities.

“I trust the guys at Primary Wave to take my music to the next level and am excited about the opportunities that this relationship presents,” said Melvern Taylor.

“We are honored to welcome Melvern Taylor to our exclusive artist roster. With his great ukulele hooks and innate talent for songwriting, Mel’s unique sound grabbed me immediately. ” said Justin Shukat, GM and partner of Primary Wave.

Rounder Records Recording Artist Slaid Cleaves has recorded a cover of Melvern's song "Working Stiff" for his upcoming record. The record is called "Unsung" and arrives in stores on May 23, 2006. You should all run out and buy it!!!
